CVSC does not offer a registration specifically for athletes that will only swim for part of a season or not compete during the season. CVSC does not have an attendance policy for practices. CVSC does offer a discounted club registration for modified and varsity athletes. This will be added as a credit (refund) to your account.

Athletes are not required to attend every practice. The practices are designed with the entire season in mind working to end of season championship meets.

Athletes are not required to attend competitions, however it is recommended to attend competitions as that is what the practices are designed for.

Athletes do not need to be a student at Chenango Valley, the swim club mission is to develop and promote competitive swimming.

USA Swimming is the governing body for competitive swimming in the United States. The membership fee provides insurance coverage for the swim club and member athletes, coaches, and non-athlete members (officials, etc..) at sanctioned events such as practice and competition.

There is no age limit to join CVSC or USA Swimming, however CVSC is not a learn to swim program prospective athletes are expected to swim 1 length of the pool unassisted (does not require in water assistance or to wear floats to complete the distance). There is no upper age limit.

The CVSC coaches make every attempt to keep athletes in groups that are age appropriate for the athlete, however the athletes are first grouped by ability.

The athletes are moved up in group as they acquire the skills to practice with the next group. This is all at the coaches discretion.

Once an athlete registers with the club and has been attending practice registration fees are not refunded. In the event that the athlete cannot attend practice due to injury or other events beyond their control then this would be brought to the CVSC board where a prorated refund would be granted. CVSC cannot refund the required USA Swimming registration fees.

All swim meet registrations are performed online. you must be logged into your Commit Swimming account, once there you can select the meet and events tab. Select the meet interested in, you will select the events desired for the meet. If the meet has qualifying times the events qualified for will be identified.

There are a number of different style meets. Most invitationals require additional fees, the fees will be noted on the event page. There are STSL development meets that will have a nominal fee of $12 per athlete.
